 Reflecting on my USMLE journey, I can confidently say that GRRSP has been the cornerstone of my story. In addition to mastering clinical research, it has been a haven for honing the soft skills that are crucial for navigating the real world. From learning how to conduct literature reviews, write an abstract and present at an international conference to embracing leadership roles and developing a collaborative mindset, it has fueled my drive to continually strive for holistic growth.

Today, I believe I am a better, more capable individual, researcher, and healthcare professional. It has helped me keep my inquisitiveness alive. the nitty-gritty of exam preparation to research skills and poster presentations, GRRSP provides a comprehensive platform for it all. This platform enabled me to connect with friends who were in the same boat. 

I am grateful to have matched into my top-choice residency, and Dr. Kashyap's one-on-one interactions and positive motivation were key in maintaining my drive.

 Commencing my journey in 2022, I couldn't have imagined matching into residency in the US in such a short span of time. With dedication and resilience, I crafted a well-rounded CV featuring strong Step scores, hands-on experience in the U.S. healthcare system, and active involvement in research projects—thanks to the GRRSP, which greatly enhanced my research profile. 

By the time I submitted my application, I had  six abstracts accepted at international conferences, delivered two oral presentations, and had one research paper published. Additionally, I made meaningful contributions through volunteer work.

A key factor in my success was the confidence I gained through interview preparation, particularly with Dr. K, who provided invaluable guidance and support, ensuring I was well-prepared for the next phase of my career.  I'm grateful to my mentors and friends for their support and am eager to assist future applicants.

Mentorship at the right time can truly transform a career. As I navigated the daunting task of preparing for my MATCH in OBGYN, I discovered GRRSP. With limited time and a competitive field ahead, GRRSP emerged as a beacon of opportunity, providing me with a platform to engage in meaningful research and sharpen my critical thinking, problem-solving, collaboration, and leadership skills. In a remarkably short span of time, the amazing faculty bolstered my

professional trajectory and personal growth. I learned to cherish achievements and discovered the beauty of effective communication. My time at GRRSP was transformative, allowing me to learn and prepare for my aspirations from the comfort of my home. Learning was an enjoyable and memorable journey, one that I will treasure forever.

  As a participant in the Global Remote Research Scholars Program, I have had the privilege of receiving invaluable mentorship on the intricacies of research. The mentors not only impart knowledge but also inspire continuous self-improvement. I am grateful for Dr. Faisal’s constant support in GRRSP. His responsiveness and guidance extended beyond academics, positively influencing both my research and personal life. Grateful for a mentor like him. This program has been instrumental in honing my skills and fostering a deep motivation to excel in the pursuit of knowledge and research excellence. 

 As a first-year medical student, I was unsure of what to expect when I chose to undertake a summer research elective at GRRSP. However, the experience has been incredibly fruitful, as I was introduced to the world of research and academics at a very early start in my medical journey. My mentors, Dr Rahul Kashyap, Dr Faisal Nawaz, and Dr Zara Arshad, have been incredibly supportive in guiding my colleagues and I towards navigating our way through our project. From developing a research idea for our project, to collaborating with international scholars to disseminate our survey, and to presenting our abstract at an international conference, I gained unforgettable opportunities and experiences that helped shape my career aspirations and goals even as a first-year student. I would like to extend a special thanks to Dr Faisal Nawaz for supporting me to the very end, and for introducing me to the field of Artificial Intelligence in Medicine, on which our research was based.   

 “It was by chance that I came across GRRSP and it has been a wonderful thing that has happened to me. “Joining GRRSP is more than just a research program; it is a full-life time experience. Not only do you learn about various research disciplines but also gain important skill sets which one can utilize for the rest of his life. I got opportunities to work on all different kinds of projects. From editorials to Meta-Analysis to original articles, worked on five different systematic reviews and meta-analysis, a cross-sectional survey studies some editorials and a narrative review. Many of the group members presented our projects at numerous international conferences including ACC, ACG, WCN, SCCM. What I absolutely love about this whole six-month program is that I got to connect and work with some brilliant Researchers/Residents/Fellows/Attendings throughout the world, learning and growing together as a team! I would say this program is great for anyone from med students to residents to attending, from an absolute beginner to advance level researchers.”

 "It was such a privilege joining GRRSP; a program that would simply guide you and make you many steps closer to your goal. It’s a program in which you will not only learn about research fundamentals, but also you will have the opportunity to change this knowledge into actual clinical research work, and gain research skills that could be of great help throughout your medical career.   "Coming from a background of no research experience, I always had an apprehension to reach out for projects. Becoming a part of GRRSP, gave me an opportunity to learn from the very basics. A very unique strength of this program is that it will provide you with multiple ideas, projects and learning opportunities in the field of research while maintaining  a personal touch of mentoring. Starting from zero to presenting case reports in international conferences like IDSA, SCCM, ACC and becoming a co-lead in a systematic review was a wonderful learning curve for me.  "Before joining GRRSP I had zero research experience. I was introduced to research by Dr. Rahul Kashyap, and with him and the GRRSP team I learnt everything about research. GRRSP does not only provide you a pathway to publish valuable research, it trains you to become a self-sufficient researcher. Your GRRSP batch is much more than a team, you learn as you do and the scope of your growth is unimaginable, from learning how to write to finding your own topics of interests to performing analysis and publishing manuscripts, GRRSP is based on a "learning by doing" concept. With the help of this amazing team I was not only able to present multiple abstracts in national and international conferences such as ACC, SCCM, ACG, etc, but also lead the largest global study on violence against healthcare workers (ViSHWaS cross-sectional study) as it's principal investigator.
